What is “Ge Shan Da Niu”?
I changed the site domain name, but it seemed a shame to throw away the About page from the old geshandaniu.com site, so here it is:

Ge Shan Da Niu is a Chinese expression.
Its literal meaning is:
“The art of focusing one’s qi in order to punch a cow on the other side of a mountain”
| |
The phrase comes from Wuxia fiction..
| |
but is now used colloquially to mean:
To accomplish something without going through the expected intermediary steps, especially if this is done with great skill or finesse.
| |
Or you could use it literally…
… to talk about deeply spiritual cow tipping.
