Greek Olive Oil

August 13th, 2008

Olive oil

This is for an article in That’s Shanghai magazine, it says “Olive Oil” in Greek on the banner. In case it seems a bit random, here’s a quick explanation:

top left = Zeus with a Martini (American drink, but with an olive)
top right = Athena (who brought olives to the greeks and blessed them… that raised hand is her blessing them. And she’s always accompanied by an owl)
top centre = dove with olive branch
Main pic - woman picking olives is in traditional Greek dress
Machines at bottom = various contraptions for pressing oil out of olives
